The difference between spunbond nonwoven and melt-blown nonwoven mainly comes from the production process.
Spunbond nonwoven is a type of nonwoven fabric made by extruding the polymer from the fine holes of the spinneret at temperatures above its melting point, cooling and refining it into a filamentous solid while going through the process of laying and reinforcing the screen by dividing the filaments. Meltblown nonwoven fabric is formed by using high-speed hot air to stretch the fine stream of polymer melt extruded from the spinneret holes of the die, forming ultra-fine fibers and coalescing them on a condensed mesh curtain or roller, and relying on their own adhesion.
The melt-blown polypropylene fabric is currently used in all of our masks. Non-woven masks will accumulate a certain amount of water when worn, and the ion concentration in this water will be higher, which may accelerate the dissipation of the charge; the particles in the air may also dissipate part of the charge in the mask during the process of continuous interception by the mask fiber; the repeated breathing and taking off during the wearing process may also have an impact on the fiber stacking structure with localized widening.
Studies have shown that the filtration efficiency of disposable medical masks decreases by nearly 5% after one day of wear, and the filtration efficiency of 14-50 nm particles decreases more significantly; the risk of contamination of masks becomes higher with the extension of use time and should be replaced in a timely manner.
